Post-Panamax Ships – Breaking it Down

       In order to further develop of the risk analysis for the navigation of Post-Panamax ships in the St. Lawrence (see Projects/Failure Probability), Acuratek and its partner developed event trees to fully explore the sequence of intermediate states of those events identified as having a higher risk probability.

       These trees allow for the identification of critical events. In turn, these served as the basis for devising attenuation methods. A critical tool for complete risk assessment, the event trees allowed for an in depth analysis of potential navigation hazards for these larger than life ships.
