ABB – The Show Must Go On
ABB, a leader in power and automation
technologies, entrusted the elaboration of their business continuity
plan to Acuratek and Marsh Canada Ltd. in order to ensure the
availability of their services to their clients. As such, a plan
that provided guidance in responding to
emergency situations involving visitors and/or personnel and/or an
incident that could significantly interrupt, impact or impede ABB’s
business operations was needed.
Three main sections were presented in the
plan: emergency response, crisis management and business
continuation plans. In order to develop these subjects, Acuratek and
Marsh utilized various methods such as worst case scenarios and the
identification of potential external, internal and natural
exposures. Also taken into consideration were human factors as well
as a review of procedures already in motion.
The findings met the needs of its client by
providing clear guidelines for ensuring the security and safety of
visitors and employees through proper management of emergency
situations. In turn, the plan constituted an essential tool for
maintaining ABB’s business activities.
